Constructicons-ROTF

The Constructicons

The Constructicons were a team of Decepticons who took on the form of construction vehicles. Some of them were combiners. Almost all the named Constructicons who formed Devastator had body doubles or "drones" that scanned the same Alt mode, thus looking the same. They would appear both in Egypt and Chicago, getting killed.

Tales of the Fallen #3 & Tales of the Fallen #4[]

Bonecrusher's body type was one of the early "construction drones" used to build Star Harvesters. One of these Bonecrusher lookalikes joined The Fallen's original Decepticons. On Earth, he, Mixmaster, Rampage, Scrapper, Long Haul, Scavenger, Hightower were sicced on the turncoat Jetfire only to be quickly taken out.

Transformers: The Veiled Threat[]

Constructicons Kickback, Tread, and Trample came to earth with the hopes of reviving their leader Megatron. To complete this task, the three of them took on the forms of construction vehicles and set to work mining uranium in the Australian outback. With enough energy, they hoped to jump-start Megatron's spark.

However, NEST was able to pick up their intermittent power signature and sent a team to investigate. In the ensuing melee, Kickback tangled with none other than Optimus Prime. Kickback was chatty during the fight, taunting Optimus and dropping dark hints of an ancient power to which even Megatron was subservient to. Prime was unprepared for his sonic charge weapon and was momentarily left disoriented. While Prime was on the defensive, Lennox was able to land a couple of good hits with his sabot missile launcher, including one that impacted the side of Kickback's head, setting it on fire. When his own self-repair mechanisms failed to put out the fire, Kickback took a more primitive approach and dunked his head in a pond. Injured and enraged, Kickback gave all his attention to squashing the human. Prime took the opportunity to jump him, dicing him up with his longsword. With his last words, Kickback proclaimed the inevitability of Decepticon victory.

Notes[]

  • Devastator's design were definitely made from the Supreme Class Devastator and Legends Class Devastator toys. The head, arms (without left hand) and legs were definitely sourced from the Supreme Class Devastator, but design torso and lower waist was taken from the Legends Class Devastator as this is the only toy in which Scavenger combined with Overload (before the was released toy Devastator from the Studio Series toy lines). As for the Unnamed Bulldozer and the Yellow Dump Truck. Despite Yellow Dump Truck appearance in the film, it was never shown as part of the Devastator's left leg. The Supreme Class Devastator toy incorrectly shows Rampage, even without the Yellow Dump Truck, could single-handedly shape the left leg Devastator's which looked about the same as in the movie but really the yellow dump truck would combine with Rampage to make the left leg. Which makes it a error in the movie. . A second bulldozer was added to the film as the left hand, presumably to ensure that the Devastator had the same arms size in the film. By 2020, there was a large retcon of the Devastator, it became known that the yellow bulldozer in the film alone forms the left leg of the Devastator and is actually a Constructicon Skipjack (not to be confused with Rampage), and the bulldozer forming the left hand of the Devastator in the film is actually Scrapmetal. The toy bio of Studio Series Scrapmetal and Studio Series Skipjack confirms their presence in Egypt during the transformation into a Devastator as well.
  • Toy bios Studio Series Scrapmetal indicates that Scrapmetal was present in Egypt during Operation: Firestorm. He combined with his fellow Constructicons to form the mighty Devastator, forming the left hand of the monstrous titan. The above statement could potentially mean that with the same subtle retcon Hasbro made with Skipjack being the left leg of Devastator rather than Rampage.
  • Many of the Constructions who formed Devastator also appear in the Battle of Egypt at the same time. The ones that form Devastator are the real ones. The other clones participated in the Battle of Egypt. The Mixmaster that Jetfire killed, the Scrapper that chased Sam and Mikaela, and the Long Haul used to unsuccessfully find Sam are clones.
  • Trench has the same body type like Scrapper and Canopy has the same body type like Long Haul.
  • The Long Haul in the Battle of Chicago is the clone one, too.
  • None of the Constructions who formed devastator survived the battle of Egypt.
    • Though there were speculation that some of them survived such as Scrapper and Long haul who would later appear again in Dark of the Moon during the Chicago Battle.
  • The recently collaboration between the franchise and Tonka, released a combiner named Tonkanator and his components (Mega Hauler, Mega Dozer, Motor Load, Motormix, Power Digger and Skyhook), they uses the basis of Trench and Canopy, who was the first concept about Constructicons being Autobots.
